Pharmacy Director (22-019) Requires a D.Ph. with a minimum of two years work experience. Pharmacist prepares medications by reviewing and interpreting prescriber orders and detecting therapeutic incompatibilities. Dispenses medications by packaging and labeling pharmaceuticals. Controls medications by monitoring drug therapies; advising interventions. Completes pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and directing technicians’ workflow, verifying their preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals, and verifying order entries, charges, and inspections. The pharmacy has three separate inventories approved by the State Board which must be tracked properly through the system.
Provides pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of health care professionals and counseling clients on drug therapies. Maintains records for controlled substances and removes outdated and damaged drugs from the pharmacy inventory. Interact with prescribers and clinical staff as a member of the treatment team when compliance, or other concerns arise.
Pharmacist will also assist in monitoring formulary usage and assist with cost control when medically feasible. Supervises the work results of Techs and Pharmaceutical Assistance Program support staff. Protects patients and technicians by adhering to infection-control protocols. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Pharmacy open hours are 8:00 am -5:30 pm MW, 9:00 am-7:00 pm T,Th,and 8:30 am-2:30 F. Set part-time schedule with availability to cover when the other pharmacist is out.
