In observance of Independence Day, our outpatient offices in Sand Springs and Tulsa will close on July 4. The CALM Center, our crisis stabilization center for kids 10-17, will remain open around the clock.

July has two official holidays: Independence Day on July 4th and Parents Day on July 23. While most of us know about Independence Day, some may not be aware of Parents’ Day.
According to the Congressional Resolution, Parents’ Day 2017 is established for “recognizing, uplifting, and supporting the role of parents in the rearing of children.”

Parents’ Day is more than just a chance to make up for missing Mother’s Day or Father’s Day. It pays homage to those people who are parenting in our ever-changing modern family.
According to the Pew Research Center, the American household is rapidly changing:

  • Four out of 10 babies come into the world to women who are single or unmarried living with a partner
  •  About one sixth of children live in a blended family
  • About 26 percent of children live in a one-parent household with their mother
  • Five percent of children do not live with either parent.
